Job Summary
Lead a B-shift production team to achieve goals, drive productivity, and ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and Simmons regulations. Supervise front-line employees, manage scheduling and attendance, and review production reports to meet throughput and yield requirements. Maintain inventory records, requisition supplies, and foster a continuous improvement culture using LEAN concepts. Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Quality Assurance to screen candidates, administer disciplinary actions, and recommend performance improvements. Ensure a safe work environment while adhering to OSHA and government policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years related work experience with a minimum of 1 year experience in a leading role included in the 4 years related work experience
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be able to work in various temperatures
- Must be familiar with computers and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Must be able to travel to other local facilities
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction required
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource management, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and Simmons rules and regulations
- Knowledge of OSHA and various government agencies concerning safety, environment, handling of food products, packaging, ingredients and any related items
- Knowledge of LEAN concepts and procedures
- Knowledge of quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN
- Knowledge of quality performance which meets or exceeds all line, department, facility, company, and USDA/FDA guidelines or grading process for a total quality program and customer relations
- Knowledge of Human Resources, Safety, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Finance, Shipping and others
- Knowledge of a safe work environment
- Knowledge of continuous improvement culture
- Knowledge of operations being performed appropriately in order to improve processes and to continually find ways to drive out waste
- Knowledge of processing and/or the development of a product or a service
- Knowledge of inventory records
