Job Summary
Provide navigation processing support to vessels throughout the survey and perform QC of positioning data and procedures. Ensure geomatics support for vessels and stakeholders while producing pre-plot assignments and finalizing navigation deliverables for upload to the production database. Present geo-information using GIS and cartography to visualize data. Capture learnings and knowledge for easy retrieval to support acquisition project planning. This role involves 2–3 trips on seismic vessels for those without prior offshore experience, requiring a Master or Bachelor degree in Geomatics and valid work permit eligibility for Norway.
Required Qualifications
- Master or Bachelor degree in the field of Geomatics, Surveying or similar.
- Some knowledge to geographical databases and data analytics
- Valid passport and meeting the requirements to obtain a work permit in Norway is essential.
- Good communication skills in English, both oral and written
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience with marine seismic acquisition and positioning.
- Familiar with the 2011 OGP formats, P1, P2, P6
- Knowing GIS systems as ArcGIS and QGIS
- Some knowledge to bathymetry and hydrography
- Familiar with NRT and IRIS processing SW
- An innovative mind and an ability to learn new skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team to accomplish goals
- Able to perform under pressure and prioritize
