Supervisor, Plant Production

Job Summary
Coordinate and supervise equipment and personnel across the facility to optimize safety, quality, productivity, and spoilage. Manage machinery setup, adjustments, and product inspections while overseeing quality standards and recommending modifications. Communicate critical information between departments and shifts regarding equipment changes, production schedules, and problems. Work with employees to identify solutions for machinery issues, facilitate on-the-job training, and complete necessary documentation including production sheets, time and attendance, and accident reports. May change shifts and plant departments to cover absences or provide additional support.
Required Qualifications
- Working experience in a manufacturing setting of 5-7 years
- At least 3 years in a supervisory/manager role
- Bachelor's level new graduate in engineering or related discipline
- Two or more related co-op or internship work assignments in a manufacturing setting
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively solve problems both on an individual and collaborative approach
- Strong PC skills
- Working knowledge of various Windows programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making
- Proven ability to prioritize effectively
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong understanding of machinery and equipment
- Ability to know when to assume the responsibility and when to delegate
- Strong commitment to quality and safety
- Desire and ability to travel and relocate if career opportunities arise
- Ability to work on various shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Aluminum metal packaging background
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Ability to look at new solutions and think outside the box
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with employees and deal with and relate to an assortment of personalities
- Career path to plant management or corporate engineering
