Supervisor, Packaging/Labeling (Weekend Shift)

Job Summary
Lead and coach a team of 20–40 packaging and labeling employees across multiple production lines, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, regulatory requirements, and safety standards in a cold room environment. Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while investigating deviations, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with Quality and Operations teams. Manage production planning to ensure on-time delivery of clinical pharmaceutical products, maintain documentation and SOPs, and develop team capabilities through coaching and performance management. Work weekends from 6am to 6:30pm, standing for the full shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adhering to strict PPE and cleanroom protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging or an FDA-regulated industry
- Experience leading teams of 10+ employees
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing methodologies including line balancing, Takt Time, 5S, SMED, and TPM
- Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical problem-solving skills with experience investigating deviations and implementing solutions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Proficiency with SOP development, production documentation, manufacturing/quality systems, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to implement process improvements and support operational excellence
- Sound judgment in a deadline-driven environment
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in varying environmental conditions
- Visual acuity for quality inspections, including color vision requirements
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
- Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed
- Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
- Must be available for weekend shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred fields: Business, Management, Engineering, Scientific discipline, or related field
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management certifications preferred
