Job Summary

Manage operation, training, and maintenance of Electrical Test equipment including Faraday Cage, AC/DC systems, and De-ionized Water. Lead a team of technicians to ensure finished goods goals are met while driving continuous improvement for HV and MV copper cable products. Ensure compliance with ICEA, IEC, and AEIC regulations and serve as primary contact for witness testing at the Huntersville facility. Lead fault detection efforts to identify root causes of cable failures and collaborate with Design Engineers on validation and factory acceptance testing for new prototypes.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 5-7 Years of experience
  • Field of Expertise: HV and MV Electrical Test Lab
  • Strong working knowledge of ICEA, IEC, and AEIC industry regulations
  • Ability to manage the operation, training, and performance of maintenance on all Electrical Test equipment including Faraday Cage, AC and DC test equipment, De-ionized Water system, and testing procedures
  • Ability to drive team development and ensure team performance to meet or exceed Finished Goods daily and monthly goals
  • Ability to ensure the right people, skills, and materials are in place to support electrical test operations
  • Ability to ensure Electrical Test department has a steady supply of raw materials, consumables, and equipment to prevent delays in testing
  • Ability to engage daily with Material Test and Operations for samples, test failures, and management of non-conformances
  • Ability to lead fault detection efforts for all cable failures to properly identify fault location
  • Ability to work with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and address root cause of faults
  • Ability to serve as Primary Point of Contact for all witness testing of cables performed at the Southwire Huntersville facility
  • Ability to assist Design Engineers in validation and factory acceptance testing of new cable configurations and prototypes
  • Ability to ensure timely completion of all IFE's and Safety Interactions
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
