Job Summary
Supervise day-to-day transit service operations by monitoring real-time service and adjusting resources for delays, disruptions, or emergencies. Lead, coach, and support transit operators and frontline staff through performance evaluations, attendance monitoring, and disciplinary actions while enforcing safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and control center teams to manage coach operator check-in processes, workforce scheduling, and staffing coverage. Address customer concerns, service complaints, and accessibility initiatives while acting as an on-site representative during service issues. Track key performance indicators such as on-time performance and service reliability to identify trends and recommend improvements. Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, split between office settings and active transit field locations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Experience with theories, principles, and practices of transit operations
- Driver scheduling practices
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations regarding transit operations
- Vehicle operations and safety
- Must currently hold or able to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in a union environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and a physical examination
- Must complete a background check consistent with applicable federal, state, and/or local laws
