Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising inbound/outbound activities, product slotting, and customer communication, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. Oversees hiring and training, plans and assigns daily work, conducts performance appraisals, and addresses performance issues. Manages receiving, warehousing and shipping to meet client and company objectives, adheres to SOPs and safety/quality standards, and drives KPI performance and cost-improvement initiatives. Leads warehouse staff, provides direction and support to HR, participates in hiring and professional development, and ensures effective communication with senior management and client representatives. Trains new staff, assesses trainee progress, and coordinates ongoing training and development. Maintains high levels of motivation and customer satisfaction, communicates regularly with management, and supports operational improvements and standard procedures. Requires leadership, planning, problem solving, adaptability to change, and the ability to work overtime as dictated by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years’ experience in logistics/distribution environment
- 1 year supervisory experience
- Prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation
- Forklift training completion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- RF Scanners
- WMS functions
- English reading/writing/verbal
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
