Job Summary
Manage efficient shopping centre operations by directing staff, coordinating external contractors, and overseeing maintenance for HVAC, security, and property systems. Conduct hiring, train, and supervise teams while preparing annual budgets and compiling reports for management decisions. Enforce safety procedures, order parts and services, and secure quotations for specialized repairs to maintain property values. Coordinate loading dock activities and waste management operations. Provide regular feedback through status meetings, coaching, and performance appraisals to ensure timely goal achievement.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- A Diploma in Building Environmental Systems offered through Community College
- A Stationary Engineer 4th Class Certificate, SMA (BOMA) or Building Environmental Systems II
- A minimum 5 years experience in physical Operations management, with at least 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in a shopping centre, office or mixed use environment
- General maintenance procedures
- Plumbing/carpentry skills
- Current technology
- HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems
- PM Program - Maximo
- Computer literacy and proficient in Word, Excel and Building Automation Systems and Preventative Maintenance software
