Supervisor of Special Education

Job Summary
Lead and supervise district-wide special education programs, ensuring compliance with IDEA and Louisiana statutes, while coordinating with the State Department of Education and LDOE. Develop budgets, oversee district personnel (Special Education Coordinator, pupil appraisal staff, nurses, speech therapists, and contracted service employees), plan parent/caregiver engagement meetings, and support inclusive, on-grade-level instruction through collaboration with school leadership. Drive program improvements, monitor grants and Medicaid activities, and guide staff development and dissertation of services to students with exceptionalities in Allen Parish; maintain accountability for fulfilling IEPs, Section 504, ADA requirements, and district initiatives. Maintain confidentiality, communicate with stakeholders, and present timely reports and updates to the Superintendent and School Board.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or Alternate Pathway defined in Bulletin 746
- Education Leader Endorsement or Supervisor of Instruction Endorsement
- School Administration Experience Preferred
