Job Summary
Provide direct supervision of Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 Music programs via regular classroom visits and offer positive suggestions for effective instruction. Evaluate teaching staff members as assigned, participate in staff recommendations regarding non-renewals, appointments, transfers, or discipline, and conduct ongoing evaluation of Music education programs. Assist principals and supervisors in the development, improvement, and procurement of instructional materials, supplies, equipment, and software while maintaining an inventory of all resources. Lead curriculum development by working with supervisors, consultants, and professional staff to improve Music education programs. Supervise and direct professional growth through regularly scheduled staff meetings, workshops, and individual conferences. Analyze pre- and post-test data in conjunction with principals and supervisors, prepare reports as requested, and maintain copies of all necessary records and forms related to the Music program.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Supervisor's certificate or certificate of eligibility
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in the area of public school education, with related experiences in teaching
- Administration and communication skills
- Required criminal history background check
- Proof of S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
