Job Summary

Oversee patient accounting functions for Insurance funded clients by supervising Insurance Collections and Medical Records & Appeals Specialists. Manage staffing levels, approve time off, and ensure adequate coverage while monitoring weekly productivity and providing direct coaching. Process outstanding insurance claims to resolution, track appeals, and handle coordination of benefit and coverage terms. Validate overpayments by reviewing EOBs and payment postings to support refund decisions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations. Report reimbursement trends and barriers to leadership, prepare aging reports, and balance statements as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient financial and protected health information while collaborating with finance, revenue cycle, and insurance provider teams.

Required Qualifications

  • high school diploma
  • three to five (3-5) years of directly related experience
  • familiarity with insurance billing policies and practices
  • functional knowledge of basic behavioral health terminology
