Job Summary
Supervise hostlers in sweeping, fueling, washing, and cleaning the exteriors and interiors of all transit vehicles, including seats, dashboards, and operator areas. Oversee daily servicing, ensure proper fueling, and review out-of-service reports to verify vehicle availability. Identify and report defects such as tire conditions and body damage to repair supervisors. Conduct nightly spot checks of at least 10% of serviced buses and maintain general housekeeping of service areas. Provide training to staff and ensure adherence to established work methods and policies. Report on conditions of washing areas to the Maintenance Manager and perform other duties aligned with RTA goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
- 2 years' paid experience in cleaning and servicing vehicles (cars, buses, heavy trucks) or housekeeping services
- Valid Louisiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Ability to read and write legibly for reporting purposes
- Must be proficient in communicating in English
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions
