Job Summary
Lead day-to-day shop execution by planning work orders, supervising technicians, and enforcing safety policies including LOTO and DVIR documentation. Manage preventive maintenance programs, parts inventory, and cost controls while ensuring all repairs meet OEM and FMCSA/DOT standards. Conduct release-to-service inspections, coach staff on performance, and drive continuous improvement in fleet uptime. Coordinate emergency repairs and seasonal readiness to support Operations. This role ensures accurate maintenance documentation and shop KPI reporting for Interstate Waste Services' refuse collection fleet across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of heavy-duty fleet maintenance experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead technician experience
- Strong knowledge of refuse truck systems
- Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT maintenance requirements
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution
