Job Summary
Supervises nursing home staff and nursing activities, including resident care and record-keeping. Manages the nursing staff assigned to a particular shift within the nursing home, assigns residents to available staff considering the resident's condition and staff skill level, and monitors care areas for cleanliness and readiness. May fill in for clinical support staff when staffing gaps exist and may serve as point of contact for training and troubleshooting. Supports human resources administrative processing and participates in new staff training. Requires knowledge of nursing practice acts and standards, strong communication, leadership, and collaboration with inter-professional teams to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Includes care planning, medication administration, scheduling physician visits, coordinating with home health services, county and state offices, and ensuring client needs are met. Provides guidance on risk management, training, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required
- Current unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
