Job Summary
Supervises nursing home staff and nursing activities, including resident care and record-keeping. Manages nursing staff assigned to a shift, assigns residents to available staff based on condition and skill level, and monitors cleanliness and readiness of care areas. May fill in for clinical support staff when staffing gaps exist and act as a point of contact for technical training and troubleshooting. Responsible for ensuring adherence to the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized care, and collaborates with other professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Supports human resources administrative processes, may assist in training and orientation, and participates in budget-related activities. Requires a Bachelor's degree in nursing, current RN license, and BLS; prior leadership experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Current RN license in state where practice occurs
- BLS certification
- Nursing leadership/management experience preferred
- Knowledge of nursing practice act and standards of care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and coordinate nursing staff
- Experience with care planning, medication administration, and documentation
- Strong organizational and training skills
