Job Summary
Lead elementary school supervision by demonstrating expertise in curriculum development, behavior management, and evidence-based instructional strategies. Coordinate professional development, collaborate with teachers, parents, and districts to support Individualized Education Plans, and interpret applicable special education laws. Evaluate staff performance through walkthroughs, observations, and summative assessments while monitoring student program progress toward educational goals. Participate in IEP meetings, assist in planning in-service programs, and analyze issues related to behavioral problems and educational needs. Ensure smooth program activities and maintain cooperative relationships with all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- NJDOE Standard Supervisor Certification
- Previous experience working with children with disabilities
- Knowledge of applicable Special education laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures including Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire
- Required criminal history background check
- Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
Desired Qualifications
- NJDOE Principal CE
- Possess strong background knowledge and skills in Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Management, Positive Behavior Supports and evidence based instructional strategies
- Knowledge of Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, Related Services Provider, or Child Study Team Member
