Supervisor, Men's Recovery (Permanent, Full-Time)

Job Summary

Oversee daily operations of the Men's Recovery Program and supervise Recovery Coaches through one-on-ones, case consultations, scheduling, and performance management. Ensure Personal Service Plans are developed using trauma-informed, person-centred best practices while managing staffing, volunteer involvement, and program coverage. Build relationships with participants for conflict resolution and crisis support, coordinate recruitment and training for staff and volunteers, and maintain quality standards in case management and documentation. Facilitate staff meetings, workshops, and special events, and maintain partnerships with community agencies and recovery centres. Work a rotation of day and evening shifts with moderate overtime, performing duties indoors with occasional exposure to crisis situations.

Required Qualifications

  • Mature individual, committed to Union Gospel Mission's Mission Statement, Core Values and Statement of Faith
  • Vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ our Creator, as Saviour and Lord
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in working within the addiction field
  • knowledge of issues related to vulnerable men experiencing various barriers including poverty, addiction, mental health
  • Excellent knowledge of alcohol & drug and mental health disorders
  • the ability to assess concurrent disorders
  • At least 40 hours of training in one or more of these subjects: counselling; crisis and conflict resolution; psychosocial intervention for substance use disorders; and trauma-informed practice
  • Advanced administrative, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material and situations
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Excellent supervisory and time management skills
  • Proficient in current Windows based computer operating environment
  • Complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Course
  • Technical Competency—Trauma-Informed Care (Level 3)
  • the candidate is subject to a criminal record check
  • Some weekend or evening work may be required
  • Moderate overtime may be required
