Job Summary
Supervisor in Procor's Sarnia, Ontario weld shop leading hourly teams, providing weld technique training, and ensuring efficient, safe railcar repair operations in compliance with AAR, Transport Canada, and DOT regulations. Responsibilities include organizing and assigning work, monitoring adherence to EHS standards, estimating labor costs for non-standard activities, maintaining a positive and productive work environment, coaching and resolving conflicts, coordinating with office staff to meet production goals, and delivering high-quality, compliant work. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years of supervisory experience, hands-on welding training, proven safety performance, union relations experience, MS Office proficiency, strong leadership and communication skills, and knowledge of railcar repair techniques and regulations. Pay range is 74,925.00 - 91,575.00 with comprehensive benefits; multi-shift operation with rotating shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience
- Hands-on welding training experience
- Proven safety performance record
- Union relations experience
- Proficient in MS Office
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building abilities
- Experience / working knowledge of railcar repair techniques and procedures, car construction, welding techniques, AAR and DOT rules and regulations would be considered a strong asset
