Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations in the byproducts area, supervising the team through automation mandates, repairs, and projects within a defined schedule and budget. Plan, implement, and monitor electrical PLC programming, automation processes, and maintenance plans while troubleshooting process control system problems and analyzing issues for design improvements. Manage the implementation, testing, and commissioning of process automation software and hardware, ensuring adherence to GMP, H&S, and Food Safety Standards. Collaborate with corporate engineering teams on system control logic and HMI design, prepare budget estimates, and maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and HACCP records. Lead the CI program and provide training to plant staff as required.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years related automation/controls experience preferably in a food manufacturing environment
- Proficient knowledge in the following software packages: Allen Bradley RSLogix5,500,5000, Micrologic, PLC 5, Ethernet communication, Factory Talk View Studio, Allen Bradley Panel Builder32.Wonderware
- Experience in programming and maintaining servo drives
- Sound communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and strong team orientation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Food industry or high-speed packaging experience
- Demonstrate excellent trouble shooting skills and analytical skills
- A high level of self-motivation and initiative
- Certified Journeyperson as electrician or instrumentation
