Job Summary
Directly supervise a unionized trades team and lead maintenance activities at the Port Hope UF6 facility, driving safety performance and continuous improvement. Role includes coordinating maintenance for equipment availability and efficiency, encouraging employee participation in improvement efforts, and potentially supporting shutdown planning and project management. Requires a trade certificate, technical diploma or degree in a mechanical field, with 3-5 years of supervisory experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing settings. Must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, problem-solving using methodologies like 5 Why and Fishbone, and proficiency with SAP CMMS and Microsoft Office. Flexible continental shift; successful candidates must pass a background check and work in a safety-sensitive environment. Assets include experience in continuous processing or Lean manufacturing, MMP knowledge/designation, understanding of PFMEA, and experience with predictive maintenance strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Trade certificate, technical diploma or degree in mechanical field
- 3-5 years’ experience in supervision or leading teams in a unionized, heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
- Strong problem solving skills using established methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, Cause Map etc.)
- Strong computer skills; SAP CMMS, Microsoft Office software etc.
- MMP knowledge or designation
- Understanding of Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis
- Experience with implementation and use of predictive maintenance strategies
- Safety sensitive position
- Clear criminal background check
