Job Summary
Oversees cleaning of assigned areas and supervises custodial staff, ensuring all tasks meet contract specifications and company directives. Trains employees in proper cleaning procedures, acts as mentor to newly hired custodians, assigns cleaning and maintenance duties, and maintains daily time/attendance records. Conducts inspections, signs reports, handles special cleaning requests, and ensures safety, SDS, and OSHA requirements are followed. Maintains logs, prepares and evaluates reports, and provides guidance, direction, and technical support to staff while managing staff performance, scheduling, and coordination with the Project Manager. Requires strong leadership, ability to read and apply contract provisions, and a focus on quality control and customer service. Works on-site in Washington, DC, with a part-time schedule (5:00pm–10:00pm, Monday–Friday). Knowledge of building service management, equipment, and chemicals, plus CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in directing cleaning operations
- Knowledge of building service management equipment, chemicals, and their applications
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Ability to stand/walk long periods, lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read, understand, and apply complex contract provisions and technical material
- Compliance with safety procedures and environmental requirements
