Job Summary
Supervisor, Lab Department oversees and coordinates laboratory staff performing routine standardized biological and biochemical tests on blood, and participates in more complex procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis and management. Accepts responsibility for recognizing results or problems for referral to Medical Director or Laboratory Director or Chair of Pathology. Requires a Bachelor degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent with CLIA/CAP, minimum 5 years’ experience, and strong verbal and written communication. Evening shift; Full-Time; location in New York City, NY. ASCP or AMT certification preferred. Responsibilities include knowledge of blood banking techniques and supervising essential laboratory operations and orientation programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent based on CLIA and CAP
- Minimum of 5 years experience in area of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
