Job Summary
Manage, coach, and mentor a team of associates to safely accomplish production and quality objectives on a night shift. Promote area standards for safety, housekeeping, and punctuality while administering timekeeping, payroll, and performance reviews. Improve area efficiency through regular auditing, risk identification, and root cause investigation to reduce downtime. Coordinate with engineering teams to prioritize work based on the production schedule and process non-conforming materials to restore product flow. Ensure zero defects leave stations by optimizing product flow and eliminating defects within the value stream. Support the transition of products from engineering development to full-rate production while utilizing required PPE for up to 12-hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/General Educational Development or higher degree
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high-volume production environment
- 1 year of managerial/supervisory experience
- Ability to work overnight in support of up to 12-hour production shifts
- Ability to perform start-up preparation before shift and close-out activities after shift
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stoop, twist, bend
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods
- Ability to properly and regularly utilize Safety glasses
- Ability to properly and regularly utilize Steel-toed shoes
- Ability to work an alternative, compressed week schedule
- Ability to work standard weekend shifts (Saturdays and/or Sundays) as required by the schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles
- Experience in powder handling, chemical batch processing, mixing, roll winding and conveyance
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and requirements and ability to navigate fast-paced work environment
- Proficiency with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
