Job Summary
Supervise small and medium-sized move and install crews to complete projects for commercial customers while performing general manual labor and office furniture installation tasks. Load, unload, lift, and move office furniture and materials; properly load and unload trucks from loading docks using ramps or lift-gates. Supervise movers and installers, train crews in proper handling and safety techniques, and report escalating job issues to the Project Manager or Account Manager. Check start times with dispatch daily, obtain work assignments, and complete paperwork including timesheets, bills of lading, and inventories. Ensure customer satisfaction, maintain excellent customer service, and adhere to all safety rules and confidentiality protocols. Requires two years of moving experience, a certified forklift operator certificate, and ability to work variable hours including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or general education degree (GED)
- Valid California driver's license
- Valid driving record that meets the company's insurance carrier's requirements
- Two (2) years of warehouse/moving experience
- Certified forklift operator certificate
- Knowledge of commonly used office furniture installation and moving concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Moderate reading and writing skills
- 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Mover I & II training
- Driver/Foreman training
- Supervisor I Level Corovan University training
- Pass the written tests for Mover I & II, Driver/Foreman, and Supervisor I Level Corovan University
- Installer I, II & III training
- Qualified and approved Driver I or II status
