Supervisor, Heatshield Materials Management (Starship)

Job Summary
Manage day-to-day activities for the Starbase Materials Management team, including approving timecards, scheduling, maintaining stocking levels, and conducting one-on-one mentoring. Implement logistics and inventory best practices such as transportation options, kitting strategies, and work order management to exceed customer expectations. Conduct regular safety walkthroughs, address issues, and promote safety policies while distributing campaign workload to ensure low-priority and high on-time kitting. Interface with Shipping, Receiving, Quality Control, Transportation, Planning, and Purchasing to resolve material receipt and distribution problems. Serve as the focal point for area audits and ensure a clean, organized workspace through continuous design improvements. Foster an environment embracing change and ideas for implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing
- 4+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing in lieu of a degree
- Must be able to work all shifts, extended hours and/or weekends as needed
- Night shift: 5:00AM - 4:30PM
- Day shift: 5:30PM - 4:00AM
- Lifting up to 25lbs. unassisted, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing stooping, stretching and carrying
- Stand: Up to 10 hours per day
- Sit: Up to 1 hour per day
- Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 30 minutes to 1 hour per day
- Overhead reach: Up to 6 hours per day
- Walk: Up to 6 hours per day
- Lift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 30 minutes to 1 hour per day
- Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 6 hours per day
- Kneel/Crouch: Up to 6 hours per day
- Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
- Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees Up to 10 hours per day
- Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), using an air purifying respirator, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee (or eligible for required authorizations)
- Must complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm capabilities
Desired Qualifications
- APICS certification – CPIM or CSCP
- Lean/6-Sigma experience (Green/Black Belt certifications)
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced /cross-functional environment
- Experience within an aerospace, aviation, automotive manufacturing environment
- Hazmat Certified
- Working knowledge of transport guidelines as defined by 49CFR / IATA
- Computer Skills – Microsoft Office applications
