Supervisor, Health Information Management (HIM) - FT Days

Lead staff in an effective and efficient manner by supervising the day-to-day operational flow of work and adjusting staffing to site volumes and priorities. Delegate assigned tasks based on skill level and provide leadership in health information management policies, regulatory compliance, and protected health information disclosures. Oversee medical record filing, retention, and destruction while auditing records for accuracy and timeliness per state and federal regulations. Assign diagnosis codes and sequence specific conditions to ensure accurate billing and Medicare compliance, verifying documentation for all ordered services. Manage admission and discharge processes, scan forms into patient records, and provide orientation and continuing education on confidentiality and documentation standards. Monitor staff performance and deliver feedback while maintaining HIPAA privacy and security safeguards.
