Supervisor, Freight Operations

Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, developing strategic work procedures to meet evolving departmental demands. Evaluate, manage, and assign workloads while supervising hourly staff across various operations and serving as the primary point of contact for workplace concerns. Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll, and administrative functions, and plan schedules to lower costs. Enforce all company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC, and DOT policies to optimize network performance and ensure customer freight is processed, handled, loaded, and delivered timely. Coach employees on techniques and quality requirements, conduct evaluations, and make recommendations regarding hiring, suspension, and termination. Develop action plans to improve load average and model compliance, participate in safety committees, and inspect working conditions to ensure safety and productivity. Minimize shipment rehandles by prioritizing direct loading and headloads while maintaining quality standards.
