Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and control all activities related to food production and retail programs, assuming authority during the Food Service Director's absence. Supervise the food and nutrition team by assisting with training, mentoring, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Oversee tray line operations, dining room service, meal delivery, and retail service to ensure timely, high-quality output. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, infection control practices, and facility policies. Monitor food, beverage, and equipment temperatures, address variances promptly, and manage inventory, supply ordering, audits, and departmental documentation. Support orientation of newly hired staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Full-time exempt role with mid-shift Monday-Friday schedule, weekends based on operational needs. Requires an Associate's degree and one to three years of supervisory experience in hospital food and nutrition.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- One to three years' supervisory experience in hospital food and nutrition
- Ability to apply a participative approach to leading staff, to coordinate and prioritize tasks, and to develop budgets with a complete understanding of facility needs and requirements
- Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through skills
- Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Health system or hospital background
- Strong analytical and compliance-oriented mindset
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
