Job Summary
Supervise day-to-day operations of the Flow Cytometry Lab in Indianapolis, ensuring tests are performed accurately and results are reported timely. Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel while monitoring daily workflow and scheduling adequate assay coverage. Research and resolve production errors, escalate when necessary, and engage in continuous process and service level improvements. Maintain equipment through Quality Control, prepare Quality Assurance records, and evaluate new process improvements. Meet regularly with direct reports for coaching and feedback, perform bench work as needed, and ensure all work adheres to state and Federal regulations. Administer and manage policies, procedures, payroll, and personnel files. Monday-Friday, first shift (some Saturdays); Bachelor's degree and six years clinical lab experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a other life science
- Six years or more of clinical laboratory experience
- Monday-Friday, First Shift (some possible Saturdays)
Desired Qualifications
- Two years or more of Flow Cytometry experience
- Previous supervisor experience
- ASCP and/or AMT Certifications
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
