Job Summary
Lead shift maintenance of the central utility plant, gas farm, chemical systems, HVAC, power, plumbing, exhaust, and wastewater treatment to prevent downtime and drive root-cause fixes on facility equipment failures. Own preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs while managing CMMS work orders, spare parts, and technician execution in a high-reliability environment. Coach maintenance technicians, partner with Production and EHS on system reliability, and track metrics like MTBF and MTTR to report to leadership. Enforce safety, regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, NFPA), and continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems. Requires 3+ years in facilities maintenance, ability to travel internationally (20%), and availability for rotating AWS shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent technical certification
- 3+ years of experience in facilities/utilities maintenance
- 2+ years hands-on with central utility plants, industrial HVAC, gas/chemical systems, or high-volume manufacturing facilities maintenance
- 1+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead position
- Ability to travel internationally (20%)
- Ability to stand up to 6 hours, lift up to 25 pounds unassisted, and maneuver around equipment in a factory setting
- Ability to work in industrial environments with fumes/odors, noise, hazardous chemicals, and confined spaces
- Must be available for one of the following AWS shifts (start and end times are approximate): A Shift – 5:00am-5:00pm, Sunday-Wednesday or B Shift – 5:00am-5:00pm, Wednesday-Saturday
- U.S. citizen or national
- U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
- Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
- Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
- Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related STEM field
- Hands-on experience with CMMS platforms, predictive maintenance tools (vibration, thermography, oil analysis), and reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Direct experience maintaining central utility plants, industrial HVAC, high-purity gas/chemical distribution, or wastewater systems in a manufacturing environment
- Background in semiconductor, solar cell, or cleanroom facilities maintenance
- Experience managing third-party vendors, service contracts, and maintenance budgets
- Proven track record improving equipment uptime, reducing MTTR, and driving continuous improvement (Six Sigma, Lean, or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
