Job Summary
Direct and supervise the Facilities Maintenance team and contracted services to ensure efficient operation of the community. Responsibilities include assigning and scheduling work, inspecting for quality and adherence to policies, performing or supervising preventive maintenance, coordinating with other departments, managing contracts and vendors, troubleshooting equipment, operating as on-call maintenance, supporting safety and training initiatives, budgeting support, maintaining inventories, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and Life Safety Code, regulatory standards, and building codes. Requires advanced knowledge of multiple trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting), strong diagnostic abilities, supervisory and customer service skills, and a Virginia driver’s license with CDL eligibility. Education: technical/vocational degree; experience: 2+ years in maintenance management. On-site at the Richmond, VA location with an on-call requirement. Required Qualifications
- Technical/vocational degree in a maintenance or skilled-trade field required
- 2+ years of experience in building/grounds maintenance management
- Virginia Driver’s license with ability to obtain CDL
- Ability to lift 60lbs and work in extreme weather
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must work in an on-call capacity to respond to emergency calls
- Advanced knowledge of building maintenance trades and facilities management (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting)
- Knowledge of building standards codes and regulatory requirements
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot system issues
- Operate hand tools and power tools
- Experience managing parts, supplies and budgets
