Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day department operations and employee performance under the department manager's direction. Exercise discretionary judgment to solve problems and ensure proper equipment function for patients, employees, and physicians within Legacy Health boundaries. Apply working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, and procedures to maintain facility standards. Requirements include a high school diploma, three years of facilities maintenance experience, and supervisory background. Candidates must possess knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and grounds maintenance, along with valid driver's license and computer proficiency. This role supports Legacy Health's mission of delivering outstanding care by ensuring the facility exceeds expectations for all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or the equivalent
- Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques (i.e., knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, grounds maintenance and related building trades)
- Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs
- Demonstrated comprehension of and use of proper ergonomics
- Valid driver's license
- Driving record meets insurance carrier requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Engineering degree or the equivalent experience
- Hospital engineering experience
- Minimum three years facilities maintenance experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- Solid interpersonal relations and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to plan, develop and facilitate training/in-service modules in an effective manner
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner
