Job Summary
Recommend promotions, discipline, and administrative actions for assigned personnel while managing staffing, morale, and procedural transfers. Interpret hospital rules, ensure safety compliance, and oversee procurement, storage, and equipment maintenance. Create daily and monthly work schedules, distribute assignments based on staff expertise, and rearrange workloads to meet departmental demands. Perform subordinate duties as needed, including operating equipment and procedures, while controlling expenses, overtime, and budget commitments. Ensure all staff meet mandatory inservice requirements and participate in formal teaching programs. Maintain records, prepare reports, and review discharge schedules to ensure efficient departmental operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years related progressive work experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- de-escalation and first aid training
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational and Interpersonal skills
- Basic personal computer knowledge and intermediate word processing/spreadsheet skills
