Job Summary
Remote supervisory role for Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program within Health Ministries region; oversees CDI staff (CDS and CDI Coordinator), coordinates staffing levels, ensures compliance with MS-DRG, ICD-10 guidelines, and 3M CDI software usage; coaches and trains CDS staff, collaborates with clinicians, coding, quality, and denials teams; manages scheduling, performance improvement initiatives, and CDI data reporting; requires Bachelor’s in HIM/related field or nursing/other equivalent experience, RN/RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CDS/CDIP preferred, 5+ years CDI experience and 2+ years supervisory experience; remote-friendly with location in Livonia, MI.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare related field or Nursing or equivalent in experience
- Current RN License or RHIA or RHIT or CCS or CCDS or CDIP preferred or PA/NP/APP medical licensure
- Minimum of five (5) years of current hospital clinical documentation integrity program experience
- Two (2) or more years of current experience supervising hospital clinical documentation integrity program
- Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, coding guidelines and DRG reimbursement
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal Hospital Acquired Conditions (HAC) and other quality indicator codes
- 3M CDI Software experience
- Epic EMR preference
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
