Job Summary
Supervisor/Buyer responsible for procuring, controlling, and managing product inventory for the department, ensuring received products meet quality standards, and coordinating display to attract customers. Acts as the go-to person in the absence of a manager; works with other department staff to provide high-level service to internal and external customers. Oversees daily department operations including stocking, facing, ordering, merchandising, and inventory; monitors staff, provides training, oversees product receiving invoicing/pricing/credits/returns, sets up displays and promotions, assists customers, maintains store standards, and adheres to co-op policies. Strong emphasis on local, organic, and sustainable products, organization, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a clerk in one or more grocery store departments
- A positive attitude and collaborative spirit
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Willingness to be open, to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
- Ability to work independently
