Job Summary
Supervise, plan, and coordinate activities for perioperative staff across PACU, SSU, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiology while acting as a liaison between departments and physicians. Develop, implement, and manage reporting on utilization, charge reconciliation, efficiencies, and quality. Lead change initiatives, resolve problems, and drive annual process improvements by investigating root causes and eliminating silos. Oversee daily department management including work schedules, payroll, attendance, and PTO; manage nursing supplies inventory and patient care plans. Coach and mentor staff, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate open communication to diffuse conflict and promote teamwork. Maintain a safe, compliant environment by enforcing infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies while adhering to behavioral standards and system values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Three (3) to five (5) years supervisory/management experience in a hospital setting
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
- Current PALS or completion within one year of entering position
- Current ACLS or completion within six (6) months of entering position
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
