Job Summary
Supervise the billing process by developing improvements, implementing best practices, and managing the firm's overall billing strategy. Oversee a team of billing coordinators through training, mentoring, and one-on-one meetings to ensure accurate, timely delivery of service to partners and clients. Act as the first point of escalation for complex billing and client-related issues while handling the full cycle of a specific billing portfolio. Review team output for accuracy and compliance, lead annual performance reviews, and educate staff on policies, procedures, and billing software. Prepare ad hoc financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end deadlines. Manage client inquiries and maintain records of all communications.
Required Qualifications
- university or college degree in a business discipline, including some accounting and finance courses
- minimum of 5 years of billing or e-billing experience
- Experience with Aderant, Pre-Bill Viewer, eBilling platforms or similar legal billing software
- Aderant accounting software and database knowledge
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- in-depth knowledge of other tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Prebill Viewer, PowerBI, InTapp, NBI
- Strong skills in leadership, project management, organization, customer relations and ability to prioritize effectively
- Ability to interact with senior members of the Firm, including the Partners and earn their trust and confidence
- Supervisory skills to lead, develop, and motivate staff in a fast-paced and always changing work environment
