Job Summary
Planer Mill Supervisor oversees daily Planer Mill operations, supervising and developing employees to meet production goals while ensuring quality and safety. Responsible for coordinating production schedules, maintaining lumber grading/finishing standards, ensuring OSHA-compliant safety practices, leading daily safety meetings, coordinating preventive maintenance, investigating downtime, tracking production metrics, and collaborating across Sawmill, Kiln, Shipping, and Maintenance to optimize workflow and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a sawmill, planer mill, lumber manufacturing, or related industrial environment
- Strong understanding of lumber manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices
- Ability to read production reports and analyze operational data
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
