Job Summary

Oversee aircraft maintenance technicians in the repair and return to service of American Airlines aircraft. Supervisors are frontline leaders of people ensuring safe, compliant, and timely return to service by effectively managing workload, resources, and relationships with internal customers, support groups, regulatory authorities, and vendors. Guides and directs terminal and/or hangar maintenance through crew chiefs and leads; ensures crews are efficiently utilized to meet workload and company policies; maintains clear communication with workforce; collaborates with management, FAA/TSA, suppliers, and unions; identifies training needs and provides coaching for crew chiefs and leads.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
  • 3 to 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • Must pass FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
