Job Summary
Oversee Admitting department operations and function, ensuring patient, family, and Physician satisfaction daily. Manage all areas within the department while collaborating with the Admitting Director or Manager. Interpret third party payer principles, COBRA laws, and medical terminology to guide staff. Prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, utilizing strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, public, staff, and administration. Full-time evening shift (3pm-11:30pm) at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer Services experience
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years experience as a supervisor in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
