Job Summary
Supervising Therapist delivers high-quality psychotherapy within Hightop Health’s outpatient psychiatry practice, provides clinical leadership, conducts biopsychosocial assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and leads/oversees a team of therapists (including provisionally licensed clinicians and interns). The role supports structured group programming (including CBT groups using Beck manualized curricula), ensures ethical practice, strong documentation, and accreditation readiness, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teammates to promote quality patient care. Core duties include maintaining an outpatient caseload, supervising therapists, facilitating CBT group therapy, reviewing clinical documentation, contributing to hiring/training, and ensuring compliance with licensure and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field required
- Active, unrestricted independent clinical license in good standing required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, or equivalent)
- Meets eligibility requirements to provide clinical supervision under applicable state licensing rules (including completion of any required supervisor training, if applicable)
- Training/certification in evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT and/or DBT) preferred; ability to deliver manualized CBT groups required as assigned
- Completion of all required Hightop Health compliance, privacy (HIPAA), safety, and role-specific training within designated timeframes
- 4+ years of post-licensure experience providing psychotherapy in a mental health and/or substance use treatment setting preferred
- Prior experience providing clinical supervision, precepting, or serving in a lead/mentor capacity strongly preferred
- Demonstrated clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills appropriate to licensure and scope
- Proficiency in delivering evidence-based psychotherapy modalities, including CBT; experience facilitating group therapy preferred
- Experience in structured outpatient settings (e.g., PHP, IOP, or similar) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage patients with diverse clinical presentations and support behavior change
- Ability to lead within a multidisciplinary team environment while managing a caseload and supervising others
- Commitment to maintaining ethical standards, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and consistent documentation practices
