Job Summary
Conduct daily classroom supervision and performance reviews for infant and toddler teachers, including monthly observations, feedback, and goal setting. Lead the team in designing and implementing trauma-informed curriculum and Individual Learning Plans while modeling positive behavior management techniques. Manage classroom operations by maintaining health and safety standards, coordinating transitions, and scheduling staff to address shortages. Oversee parent engagement through conferences and communication systems, ensuring all records are submitted accurately. Serve as a role model for staff and families, participating in decisions regarding probationary actions and termination. Work onsite five days a week in Roxbury, MA, supporting Horizons' mission to end homelessness among families with young children through high-quality early education and comprehensive family support services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or an unrelated field
- DEEC LEAD Teacher Certification
- Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience
- Able to communicate, verbal and written, fluently in English and Spanish, and or Haitian Creole
- Supervisory skills with a strengths-based and mutual respect approach and ability to manage workloads, provide appropriate support, and address professional development needs
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications and other relevant ECE software applications
- Ability to lift 40 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 credit-bearing hours of specialized college-level course work in administration, leadership or management
- Demonstrated success in supervision
- Experience working with homeless children and families, multi-ethnic urban families, with children-at-risk, or Horizons for Homeless Children
- Excellence in communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate and solve problems using a team approach
