Job Summary
Supervising Public Health Advisor within NYC DOHMH's ACE unit, which provides partner services and linkage to care for HIV-diagnosed individuals. Responsibilities include direct supervision of staff, case reviews and management, supplemental case investigation and partner services, interviewing HIV-diagnosed persons to elicit exposed partners, notifying partners, facilitating HIV rapid testing in mobile settings, connecting newly diagnosed individuals to clinical care, using transmission network data to locate not-in-care persons, engaging patients and partners with HIV prevention and ancillary services, linking HIV-negative partners to PrEP providers, and collecting data to meet surveillance and case investigation requirements. The role may be activated for NYC Health Department responses to disease outbreaks or emergencies, involving patient/provider interviews and data collection during outbreaks. Work-from-home options may be available up to two days per week depending on the position. Commitment to equity and public health service is emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in a public health program, performing duties involving case finding, case management, interviewing, investigating and other related public health work, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education, or in health, social or biological sciences; and four years of experience as described above, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or
- Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and six years of experience as described above, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or
- Satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
