Job Summary
Lead executive agency counsel overseeing worker-protection enforcement at NYC DCWP/OLPS. Responsibilities include supervising 3-4 investigators and attorneys, overseeing workflows and case assignments, drafting procedures and guidance, leading complex investigations and mediations, ensuring consistency of decisions, managing compliance monitoring of consent orders, developing enforcement systems for new laws, collaborating with Data Science to refine analyses, drafting template correspondence and reports, providing legal opinions, advising on strategic planning and expansion, and managing recruitment, training, and evaluations of staff. Requires NYS Bar admission and four years of relevant experience with supervisory leadership; salary dependent on supervisory responsibility and experience. Remote work up to 2 days/week may be available under the Flexible Work Pilot Program.
Required Qualifications
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant, satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar
- eighteen months of which must have been in the supervision of other attorneys, in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity, or performing highly complex and significant legal work
