Supervising Intervention Specialist: Alternative in the Community

Job Summary

Lead supervision and daily operations for the Hartford Alternative in the Community program, overseeing direct reports and conducting weekly team meetings and formal monthly supervision. Facilitate CBT group sessions, recognize and address client ambivalence, and conduct make-up sessions while modeling pro-social behaviors. Assist in hiring, training, and development of staff, and review IS and JD processes to ensure accurate logbooks and CDCS data entry. Complete necessary case documentation, input data into the Contractor Data Collection System, and solicit client satisfaction feedback. Monitor client behaviors, implement behavior management systems, and adhere to PREA Standards. Recognize anti-social thinking and reinforce concrete alternatives through evidence-based approaches.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of experience with Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) group facilitation
  • Administering assessments
  • Performing case management functions
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of criminal justice and court systems
  • Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of cognitive-behavioral approaches
  • Demonstrate trauma informed approaches
