Job Summary
Senior Laboratory Geotechnical Engineer role overseeing geotechnical laboratory tests and core logging activities. Responsibilities include supervising and coaching junior staff, reviewing test results for adherence to technical expectations, calibrating and troubleshooting laboratory instruments and data logging equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of laboratory procedures. Required skills include hands-on laboratory work, strong geotechnical principles, proficiency in Excel, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment. Travel to the UK and work on vessels may be needed; onboarding includes a 3-month training period in Wallingford, UK. Fluent in French and English; Master’s degree in a geotechnical-related field and 5+ years of relevant experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering (geotechnics focus), Earth Sciences or closely related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a geotechnical laboratory or similar technical environment
- Experience in supervision, coaching or training of junior team members
- Fluency in French and English
- Flexibility to travel occasionally to the UK and to work on vessels
