Job Summary
Oversee multiple remote and REMI production projects while collaborating with partners to launch productions and maintain standards. Organize cross-departmental meetings to develop operational strategies and lead teams to drive innovation through new workflows. Provide comprehensive feedback and mentorship to Directors, Associate Directors, and Stage Managers, establishing regular review sessions and building monthly schedules. Identify and track staff development opportunities to support recruitment and retention objectives while holding personnel accountable to performance standards. Participate in weekly management meetings and direct ESPN's highest profile shows, requiring quick reaction in high-pressure environments. Assist in defining content philosophy and execution in conjunction with Coordinating Producers.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years directing experience
- demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency with live directing
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency with production equipment and facilities
- Strong ability to think and react quickly to rapidly changing situations in a high pressure environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency with all aspects of set design, animation packages, show budgets and remote planning
- Appreciation of popular culture and assistance in defining ESPN viewer tastes
- Ability to assess and evaluate job performance, leadership skills, directing skills, forward thinking
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, communications, journalism or a closely related field
