Supervised Visitation Monitor

Job Summary
Open visitation rooms, sanitize surfaces and toys, and maintain visitor logs to ensure a clean, safe environment for court-referred families. Observe interactions between non-custodial parents and children, deescalate tense situations, and intervene compassionately during inappropriate behavior while documenting behaviors and conversations objectively. Submit visitation documentation to the Supervised Visitation and Advocacy Manager, process payments for visits, and provide clients with resources for parenting support or conflict resolution. This hourly part-time role involves evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts with no benefits eligibility, requiring a valid driver's license and the ability to work in a high-stress setting involving sensitive issues such as domestic violence and trauma.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to function well in high-paced and at times emotional and/or stressful environment
- Ability to stay focused and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and potentially high-stress setting
- Ability to work with compassion and patience
- Ability to work with community members who have endured traumatic situations, and in an environment that may present vicarious trauma
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow through with minimal direction
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
- Personal qualities associated with patience, empathy, and flexibility, with an orientation toward developing the potential of clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Impeccable professionalism that will be displayed when working with other YWCA Central Virginia staff members and volunteers, clients, community partners, stakeholders, and the public

- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Must be available for evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours

Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or human services field
- Previous work or volunteer experience involving family services, counseling, or mediation
- Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed practices
- Two or more years of experience working directly with children
- Experience working with diverse, multicultural population
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and comfortable or willing to learn best practices for Microsoft Outlook 365, Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
- Experience using office equipment including Windows-based computers, printers, scanners, and fax machines
- Bilingual skills desired (Spanish)
