Job Summary
Oversee quality, safety, and production of electric transmission and substation construction crews while managing project execution from planning to closeout. Coordinate billing, equipment usage, and tool inventories, organize crew assignments, and assign foremen to specific job tasks. Monitor major project activities including locates, environmental work, and wire stringing, then update schedules and progress reports. Conduct safety meetings, review contracts and bids, and document change orders to ensure accurate final billing. Address owner complaints, negotiate scope changes, and ensure all close-out procedures are followed. This field-based role requires daily onsite presence, first-to-arrive and last-to-leave attendance, and active engagement with crews to maintain productivity targets and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of craft experience
- 2 years supervisory in transmission/substation
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA codes and standards
- Valid class "B" CDL
- Ability to read blueprints
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Physical ability to walk on uneven terrain
- Physical ability to climb equipment
- Physical ability to work in various weather conditions
- Adherence to company safety and health policies
- Participation in storm restoration operations
- Attendance at training classes/seminars as needed
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Must demonstrate strong leadership presence
- Must actively engage with crews on-site
- Must understand the full scope of work
