Job Summary
Develop, maintain, and adjust construction schedules to ensure project milestones, budget targets, and timelines are met. Oversee total project execution, managing site startups, subcontractors, and trade crews while enforcing safety programs and occupational health regulations. Conduct weekly review meetings to assess progress, address delays, and implement contingency plans. Coordinate with leadership to resolve technical problems, identify risks, and optimize productivity levels. Supervise foremen and crews, providing coaching, feedback, and support for hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions. This role requires managing multiple sites across Eastern Ontario in a fast-paced, outdoor environment with potential overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a superintendent in heavy civil construction
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology or formal technical training that is relevant to the field
- Valid driver's license
- Strong knowledge of blueprints, schematics, surveying, and construction plans
- Familiarity with collective agreements, company policies, and contract management
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage high-intensity environments with strong attention to detail
- Experience in project management, contractor coordination, and successful project execution
- Travel between job sites is required
- Overtime may be required
